Information: Captain C.H. Harding, Royal Irish Rifles, who was awarded the Military Cross for gallantry and devotion to duty on the field on July 1st and 2nd, 1916, when he risked his life constantly under heavy machine gun and artillery fire, in taking instructions to the advanced troops when all communication had been cut off. He returned from South Africa in October, 1914, and joined the ranks. In January, 1916, he received his commission for services in the field, and was gazetted Captain in August last. He is the son of Mr. F. W. Harding, Neville Street, New Ross.
