Information: Captain A.K.S. Cunningham, Grenadier Guards, was the younger son of Colonel Cunningham, of Caprington, Ayrshire, and was educated at Eton and Oxford. While attached to the 5th Royal Irish Lancers at the Curragh he was well known as a follower of the Meath Hounds. In 1913 he received a commission in the Grenadier Guards, and went to France with the First Expeditionary Force on August 12, 1914, and served continuously until he fell in action on September 25th, 1916, at which time he was the only officer of those who went out with it still serving with the battalion. Capt. Cunningham was mentioned in despatches.
