Information: Second Lieutenant William Gaston Boyd, 9th Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, died in France on October 13th, 1916, from wounds received in action the previous day. He was the only son of Dr. and Mrs. Boyd, Lifford. Co. Donegal, and was educated at Foyle College. Londonderry, St. Columba's, and T.C.D. In 1907 he went to Canada and came to England with the second Canadian contingent in June, 1915, He went to France with the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles, and in August, 1915, obtained his commission in the 9th Inniskillings. His Colonel writes that he had made for himself throughout the whole division a name as a wonderful scout.
