Information: Captain James Kivas Tully, Middlesex Regiment, died in hospital on September 19th, 1916, from wounds received in action while leading his Company. He was the son of the late Commander J.H. Tully, R.N., and Mrs. Tully, Mayville, Lower Kimmage Road, Dublin. He was educated at Corrig School, Kingstown, and Trinity College, and took his degree as Senior Moderator and Gold Medallist in Mathematics. In 1910 he was gazetted to the Middlesex Regiment, and shortly after war broke out was sent with his Battalion to Gibraltar, and later went to the front. He was wounded in May, 1915, and shortly afterwards received his promotion. On recovery he rejoined his Battalion, with which he served until he fell.
