Information: Second Lieutenant Aubrey Cecil White, 8th York and Lancaster Regiment, was killed in action, July 1st, 1916, while leading his men in the battle of the Somme. Lieutenant White, who was 20 years old, was the second son of Mr. Richard White, Gowran House, Kilkenny, and was educated at Castle Park, Dalkey, and afterwards at Trent College, Derbyshire. He was gazetted Second Lieutenant in October, 1914, and went out to France at the end of 1915.
