Information: Second Lieutenant Samuel Victor Charles Jones, second son of Mr. S. Jones, M.A., solicitor, Cavan, was killed in action in his 19th year. He was educated at Cavan and Portora Royal Schools. In 1914 he entered Sandhurst Military College, and in June 1915, received his commission in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He served with the 3rd Battalion prior to being drafted, in March, 1916, to the Front. He was a good all-round athlete and an excellent rifle shot.
