Information: Second Lieutenant William Hatchell Boyd, Royal Dublin Fusiliers, was the elder son of Rev. Samuel T. Boyd, B.A., 28 North Circular Road. He was educated in Wesley College, Dublin, and on leaving College entered the Waterford office of Messrs. H. B. Brandon and Co., chartered accountants, of Belfast, being afterwards transferred to Londonderry, where he was at the outbreak of the war, but responded to the call for men and was posted to the 5th Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers in December, 1915. He went to France in the end of July last, and served in the trenches until he fell in action on September 9th, 1916, in his 29th year.
