Information: Major (temporary Lieutenant Colonel) Hugh Stewart, R.A.M.C., elder son of the late Captain Hugh Stewart, Cheshire Regiment, of Hatley, Foxrock, was the first R.A.M.C. officer to win the Military Cross, and was decorated by the King at Buckingham Palace last March. He went to France on the outbreak of the war, served later in Egypt, and is now back in France.
