Information: Second Lieutenant Harold A. Sloan, Royal Garrison Artillery, was killed in action on January 21st, 1917. He was the son of the late Mr. Gilbert Sloan, Dunsinen, Castleknock, and was a famous Irish International and Bohemian footballer. He represented Ireland in many International matches, and captained the Irish XI on many occasions; he was also captain of the Bohemians, and held innumerable League and Cup medals. Lieutenant Sloan was also a well known tennis player. He joined the Inns of Court O.T.C. in January, 1916, was gazetted to the Royal Garrison Artillery in October, 1916, and posted to a Siege Battery.
