Information: Captain A. B. E. Hillas, Gordon Highlanders, reported wounded and missing, is son of the late R. W. Hillas, Esq., D.L., of Doonecoy House, Co. Sligo, and of Mrs. Hillas, 8 Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin. Born in 1876, he entered Trinity College, Dublin, in 1894, and had a distinguished University career, gaining the Vice-Chancellor's Prize, Senior Moderatorship, and Gold Medal in English Literature, and other distinctions. On the outbreak of war, being then Assistant Inspector of Irish Fisheries, he joined the Trinity College O.T.C., and in March, received a commission in the Gordon Highlanders.
