Information: Lieutenant Charles Lysaght Hewson, Royal Engineers, the news of whose death from paratyphoid on the 12th inst on board the S.S. “Abosso” has been received, was the second son of the late Mr. George Hewson, D.L., of Ennismore, Listowel, and of Mrs. Wynne- Griffith. At the outbreak of the war Mr. Hewson was in the Colonial Service as Engineer in Nigeria, and was given a commission as 1st Lieutenant, attached Royal Engineers, in the Allied forces. He went through the Cameroons campaign, and was mentioned by General Cunliffe in his despatches.
