Information: Brigadier-General A. St. J. Ricardo C.M.G. D.S.O., Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, of The Brae, Sion Mills, Co. Tyrone, was promoted Brigadier-General on December 1st, 1916, and was made Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George in January, 1917. He is the fourth son of the late Mr. Henry David Ricardo, Galcombe, Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire. He joined the 2nd Battalion Inniskilling Fusiliers in 1868 and served in India and Burma until 1898. He served through the South African War, for his services in which he was awarded the D.S.O. and was three times mentioned in despatches. He retired with the rank of Captain in 1904, but on the outbreak of war in 1914 was recalled and given command of the 9th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, and went to France in October, 1915.
