Information: Lieutenant Herbert C. Rosa, Royal Field Artillery, of Killavalla, Borrisokane, Co. Tipperary, was killed in action on July 31st, 1917. He was the eldest son of the late Mr. Carl Rosa and Mrs. Carl Rosa, 17 Westbourne Street, Hyde Park. He was educated at Clifton College, on leaving which he joined the Honourable Artillery Company, but resigned on coming to live in Ireland. On the outbreak of war he rejoined his old battery and served in Egypt. He returned home in 1916 to take a commission in the R.F.A. Special Reserve. Lieutenant Rosa married Marie, eldest daughter of Mr. Wm. O'Meara, Drumbawn, Birr.
