Information: Lieutenant John Alphonsus Conmee, York and Lancaster Regiment, was killed in action on May 4th, 1917, whilst gallantly leading his men into action in face of a heavy enemy barrage. Lieutenant Conmee was the son of Mr. P. J. Conmee, 25 Belgrave Road, Rathmines, and was educated at the Catholic University School, Lower Leeson Street, where he captained the senior cricket and Rugby teams, and was a member of the Bective R.F.C. In April, 1915, he was posted to the York and Lancaster Regiment from Dublin University O.T.C., and early in January of the present year went with his unit to France.
