Information: Lieutenant Robert McLaurin, Royal Irish Rifles, was wounded in the memorable charge on the Messines Ridge, but continued lighting until he was again wounded, and died in a few moments. He was the son of Mr. James McLaurin, Tulnafoyle, Co. Tyrone, and prior to the war was engaged with his brother as partner in the firm of McLaurin Bros., Belfast. On the formation of the Ulster Division he was given a commission in the Royal Irish Rifles, and was a very keen soldier.
