Information: Lieutenant Edward Kavanagh, Manchester Regiment, was a son of the late Mr. Charles J. Kavanagh, The Octagon, Westport, and Mrs. Kavanagh, 45 Seville Place, Dublin. He received his commission in January, 1915, and went to France with his regiment in February, 1916. He was reported missing on August 5th, 1916, and is stated by one of his men, who is now a prisoner of war in Germany, to have been killed on that date.
