Information: Lieutenant Francis Arthur Dinan, Royal Field Artillery, who has been killed in action, was fourth surviving son of Mr. John Dinan, Knockeven, Rushbrooke, County Cork. He was in his twenty-third year, and was educated at St. Augustine's (Benedictine College), Ramsgate. Shortly after the outbreak of war he joined the ranks, and won his commission just two years ago. This is the second son Mr. Dinan has lost in the war, Lieutenant George A. Dinan having been mortally wounded at the capture of Ginchy in September of last year.
