Information: Second Lieutenant Robert Kelly Pollin, Royal Irish Rifles, who was killed in action on July 31st, 1917, was the eldest son of Mr. James M. Pollin, Albertville, Tauton Avenue, Belfast. He was in his twentieth year, was educated at the Belfast Royal Academy, and was a law apprentice with his father when he volunteered for service, obtaining his commission in the Royal Irish Rifles in September, 1916. He was a very capable officer, and was killed whilst bravely leading his platoon in an attack.
