Information: Lieutenant JamesWilson Drennan, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, was the eldest son of Mr. John W. Drennan. Carse Hall. Limavady Junction, and was educated at Roebank School, Limavady, and Foyle College Londonderry. Prior to the war he assisted his father, who was one of the largest farm proprietors in the North of Ireland but when war was declared be volunteered, and was given a commission in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. He acted as Transport Officer to his Battalion until they arrived in France in October, 1915. He served in the trenches until June, 1916, when he was sent on home service to allow him to be near his father who was seriously ill. After his father's death he remained at home until again sent to France in July last. He was wounded in action on August 11th, 1917, and died the following day.
