Information: Captain (Temporary) R. F. Sherlock, King's Royal Rifle Corps, who was reported missing on July 23rd, 1916, is now presumed to have been killed on that date. He was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Sherlock, 8 Hyde Park Place, London, W. and great grand-nephew of Archdeacon Sherlock, Sherlockstown, Co. Kildare. He was educated at Eton and Sandhurst and was gazetted in October, 1914. He went to the front early in the following January, and was wounded in June 1915.
