Information: Lieutenant James Elkin Kerr, Machine Gun Corps, who died of wounds received in action on September 10th, 1917, was the only son of Mrs. McSweeney, The Diamond, Carndonagh, Co. Donegal. Prior to obtaining his commission he was an official of the Bank of Ireland, Newry. He was wounded at Ypres early last year, and was again wounded at the taking of Guillemont. He had received a transfer to the Indian Army and was about to take up his new duties when he was wounded.
