Information: Lieut. John Frederick Cullinan Fogerty, R.E., elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Fogerty, Bank Place, Ennis, was killed in action on September 22nd, 1917, in his 22nd year. He was educated at Galway Grammar School and the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, and obtained his commission in the Royal Engineers in October, 1915. He had been on active service since July, 1916, had just been promoted first lieutenant, and only returned to duty from sick leave a week before his death in action.
