Information: Second Lieutenant Ben Brayshaw Victor M'Cracken, 9th Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, was the eldest son of the late Mr. George McCracken, manager Ulster Bank, Dromore, Tyrone, and of Mrs. Waddell, Ardnachree, Dalkey. He joined the Army as trooper in Inniskilling Dragoons on August 28th, 1915, and was shortly after transferred to a cadet corps. He received his commission in December, 1916, in the Royal Irish Fusiliers, and went to the front on January 2nd, 1917, where he was transferred to the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. He was wounded on August 16th, 1917, whilst very gallantly leading his men, and died from the effects of his wounds seven days later.
