Information: Second Lieutenant Edward Archibald Mahony, R.I.R. who was killed in action on 16th August, 1917, was the eldest son of the late Mr. J. Maunsell Mahony, Commissioner of Charitable Bequests, Dublin, and Castlegregory, Co. Kerry. Previous to receiving his commission in Aug 1915, he held a responsible position on the editorial staff of the Weekly Irish Times. He had seen a good deal of service, and was wounded on 1st July, 1916. When he recovered he returned to the front, where he remained up to the time of his death.
