Information: Lieutenant Christopher Butler Prior-Wandesforde, Yorkshire Regiment, was the eldest son of R. H. Prior-Wandesforde, J.P., D.L. (Temporary Captain R.F.A.) and Mrs. Prior-Wandesforde, of Castlecomer House, Co. Kilkenny, and Kirklington and Hipswell, Yorkshire, he was educated at Mourne Grange School. Co. Down, and afterwards at Rugby School. After leaving Rugby he passed into Trinity College, Cambridge, but instead of taking up residence he volunteered for active service and received his commission in March, 1915. He went to France with his regiment in March, 1916, was wounded in September of the same year, and died from the effects of gas poisoning, received in action on 27th June, 1917, aged 20 years.
