Information: Second Lieutenant Robert Wright, Royal Irish Rifles, who was killed in action on 7th November, 1917, was the only son of Mr. David Wright, J.P., 11 Lower Crescent, Belfast. He was educated at the Royal Academical Institution and was afterwards a member of the O.T.C. at Queen's University. In 1914 when only 18 he offered himself for enlistment but was on three different occasions rejected by the medical officers. A year later he again offered himself and was accepted, and obtained his commission in May, 1917, in the Royal Irish Rifles.
