Information: Temporary Lieut. Colonel C.J. Griffin D.S.O., Lancashire Fusiliers, of Woodhill, County Cork, has been awarded a bar to the D.S.O. for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He commanded his battalion with great ability and determination. When the left brigade was out of touch he was mainly responsible for communication being re-established at a critical moment when conditions were most trying. The successful issue was largely due to his splendid example.
