Information: Second Lieutenant Cecil Augustine Maguire, Scottish Rifles, who was killed in action in France on July 31st, 1917, was the youngest son of Mr. John F. Maguire, solicitor and Sub-Sheriff for Cork. He joined the Sportsmen's Battalion on its formation and after a year's training received his commission in the Scottish Rifles. He went to France early last year and was attached to another battalion of his regiment, with which he served until he fell in action.
