Information: Second Lieutenant James Shannon Dunn, King's Own Scottish Borderers, was killed in Flanders whilst leading his men in action on October 4th, 1917. He was the third son of the late Mr. John Dunn and Mrs. Dunn, North Strand, Limerick, and was educated at Villiers Endowed School. On the outbreak of the war he joined the Seaforth Highlanders and after seeing much service in France received his commission in the K.O.S.B.s. He was selected to represent Munster in the inter-provincial matches on several occasions and the honour of representing his country against Wales was conferred on him by the Selection Committee of the Irish Hockey Union.
