Information: Lieutenant Eric Cecil John Manly, Royal Field Artillery, aged 21, was the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Manly, of Greenfield, Kilgobbin, Co. Dublin; he was educated at Bilton Grange, Rugby, and afterwards at Rugby School. On leaving school he received a commission in the Special Reserve of Officers of the Cork R.G.A., and was made lieutenant in February, 1915. In July, 1915, he went to France with an ammunition column and shortly after joined a battery of the R.F.A., in which he served continuously until his death. He was killed near Ypres on the night of 18th July.
