Information: Captain Maurice Burnett, Royal Army Medical Corps, M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., who was killed in action at Shaiba, Persia, was born in October, 1888, and was the youngest son of Surgeon-General and Mrs. Burnett, of Richmond, Surrey. He was a student of St. George's Hospital, where he was senior house physician. He embarked for India, January 21st, 1914, and went to Mesopotamia with a field ambulance in November, 1914, and was afterwards attached to the 2nd Norfolk Regiment as medical officer. He fell in action on April 14th, 1915, and was mentioned in Sir J. Nixon's despatch, for conspicuous courage in attended to the wounded under heavy fire.
