Information: Second-Lieutenant Charles Francis Xavier Ennis, Royal Munster Fusiliers, who was killed in action on November 20th, 1917, was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Ennis, Airfield Road, Rathgar, and was educated at St. Mary's College, Rathmines. At the outbreak of the war he gave up his post in the Irish Land Commission and joined the Pals Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers, with whom he served in the Gallipoli campaign. He received his commission last March, and was serving in France since April.
