Information: Lieutenant Joseph H. O'Connor, Royal Munster Fusiliers, who was killed in action in France on November 10th, 1917, was the son of Mrs. N.H. O'Connor, District Asylum, Ballinasloe. He was educated at St. Joseph's College The Pines, and joined the Cadet Corps of the Leinster Regiment in November, 1914, at the age of 17. He was gazetted to the Munster Fusiliers in August, 1915, and served as musketry officer to his battalion until he went to France in June, 1916. During his seventeen months' service in France he went through many severe engagements.
