Information: Major Charles Owen Hezlet D.S.O., Royal Garrison Artillery, has been awarded the D.S.O. for distinguished service in the field in December 1917. He is the son of Lieut. Colonel Hezlet, Bovagh, Aghadowey, Co. Londonderry, and is in his 26th year. He joined the Royal Garrison Reserve Artillery in 1910. and was posted to a Battery Siege Artillery in 1914. Major Hezlet went to France in June, 1915, and was mentioned in Sir Douglas Haig's despatches in May and December, 1917.
