Information: Mr. Harold Nixon, Royal Naval Reserve, lost his life at sea by enemy action on October 15th 1917. Shortly after the outbreak of war he went as engineer on the SS Whitehead, which was later commandeered by the government and placed on the Naval Reserve, and ran the gauntlet of submarine attacks successfully until torpedoed without warning in October last, only the captain and a few of the crew surviving.
