Information: Captain and Quartermaster Thomas B. Mahony M.C., Royal Irish Regiment, died in hospital in France on January 10th 1918, from injuries sustained on active service. Captain Mahony had completed 26 years' service in the Royal Irish Regiment, and had served with great distinction in the South African War, for which he was mentioned in despatches and awarded the King's medal and clasps, and in the present war was also mentioned in despatches and awarded the Military Cross for gallantry and devotion to duty. He was the husband of Mrs. Mahony, Marr Lodge, Colville Road, Clonmel, who with seven children survives him.
