Information: Second Lieutenant Lowry Sinclair Duncan, Royal Irish Rifles, was awarded the Military Cross for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He was in charge of a carrying party during an attack, and led his men through a very heavy machine gun and artillery barrage, successfully delivering the supplies to the forward lines. He did valuable work in reorganising scattered troops, and collecting water and ammunition into dumps ready to be sent forward, all the work being carried out under heavy fire.
