Information: Lieutenant F. A. Crowley, Royal Flying Corps, who was killed in a flying accident at Maldon on February 26th last, was the son of the late Mr. M. Crowley and Mrs. Crowley, Adrigole, Bantry, Co. Cork, and on the outbreak of the war was studying mechanical engineering. He at once volunteered, but being under age was not accepted. In March, 1917, he joined the R.F.C. and was attached to the Home Defence Squadron. He was a most promising officer and a very keen athlete. He was buried in the Catholic cemetery at Maldon with military honours, his two brothers, Captain F. Crowley and Lt. L. Crowley, who are also on active service, being chief mourners.
