Information: Captain John Arnott M.C., Hussars, was killed in action on March 30th, 1918. He was the eldest son of Sir John and Lady Arnott. Captain Arnott was educated at Eaton and at Cambridge University. On the outbreak of the war he served on the Staff, and retired to rejoin his regiment as Adjutant. He was gazetted Captain in February, 1915, and was twice mentioned In despatches, and was awarded the Military Cross for distinguished service in the field during the second battle of Ypres, in May 1915. Captain Arnott was an athlete of distinction, and won many cups and other prizes at Eton and Cambridge.
