Information: Second Lieutenant F.W. Howden, Royal Dublin Fusiliers, died of wounds received in action on the 28th March. He was the younger son of Mr. John Howden, Carriglass, Longford, and was educated at Ranelagh School, Athlone. On the outbreak of the war he joined the Royal Dublin Fusiliers (Pals Battalion) as a private, at the age of 20. He was with this battalion in the landing at Suvla Bay and all through the Gallipoli campaign, and afterwards in Serbia and the Balkan front. He came home for his commission at Easter of Iast year, and was gazetted to the Royal Dublin Fusiliers.
