Information: Captain (Acting Major) Cyril Hamilton Reid Scholefield, who was killed in action on the 28th March, was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Scholefield of Rosenau, Rathgar, Dublin. He entered Woolwich in 1912, and obtained his commission in the Royal Garrison Artillery just before the outbreak of war. He was stationed in Gibraltar for a year, and returned to England in 1915, and shortly after went to the fornt where he was gazetted captain. In September 1917, he received command of a battery, and was made acting major. The King of the Belgians conferred on him the Order of the Crown and the Croix de Guerre.
