Information: Second Lieutenant Oliver Wendell Holmes, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, was reported missing on August 16th, 1917, and is now presumed to have killed on that date. He was the elder son of Mr. M. Holmes, D.I., Kells, and joined the cadet corps of the Leinster Regiment in March 1915, and went to France in the following December. He served through many engagements until December 1916, when he was given his commission in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, with whom he served until August 16th, 1917, when he was reported missing.
