Information: Major General Archibald Armar Montgomery C.B., was educated at Charterhouse and the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich. He served through the South African War, was mentioned in despatches, and was wounded during the campaign. Later he was appointed Instructor at the Staff College, Quetta, and subsequently at Camberley. In August 1914, he proceeded to France with the British Expeditionary Force, since which time he has been five times mentioned in despatches and has been promoted Brevet Colonel and Major General. The Legion of Honour (Croix d'Officier) was conferred on him in 1914, the Croix de Commander in 1917, and he has recently received the C.B.
