Information: Colonel Henry Smith M.A. M.D., whose name appeared in a recent list of War Honours as the recipient of the C.I.E., is a brother of Mr. Joseph Smith, Solicitor, Clogher, Co, Tyrone. He was educated at Queen's College, Galway, and graduated in the Royal University, and a short time after being quaIified he obtained first place in the Indian Medical Service, and has obtained a worldwide reputation as an oculist by his method of treating cataracts, oculists from all parts of the world having gone to India to study his method. Some years ago he was appointed Honorary Surgeon to the Governor-General of India, and over two years ago he was appointed consultant oculist to the troops in Mesopotamia.
