Information: Lieutenant Walter de Courcey Dodd, R.F.C., was the youngest son of the late Dr. W.H. Dodd, Killorglin. He joined the Royal Munster Fusiliers at the age of 19, and with them saw much fighting in France. He then volunteered for the R.F.C. and was reported missing on the 31st October, 1917. Mrs. Dodd has now been informed that the German Red Cross report he and his pilot were killed in an aerial fight near Bourlon on that date and were buried at the military cemetery at Marquion. He was in his 22nd vear.
