Information: Major William Lindsay Shaw M.C., Royal Engineers, was killed in action on April 16th, 1918. He was the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin M‘Knight Shaw, Chlorine Gardens, Belfast. He joined the Royal Naval Division on the outbreak of the war and received his commission in the Royal Engineers in January, 1915. He was educated at the Queen's University, Belfast, where he graduated with honours in Arts and Engineering, and was a member of the Institute of Civil Engineers. He was a well known Rugby football player, and before the war had gained his inter-provincial cap.
