Information: 25197 Lance Corporal Douglas Patrick Gordon Cole-Baker, Auckland Infantry Battalion, New Zealand Ex. Force, who was killed in action in France, was the son of Mrs. Cole-Baker, Hannue, Onewhero, Auckland, N.Z. He was born in Tipperary, and went to New Zealand in 1905. In June, 1916, he went to France with his battalion, was wounded at Messines, and awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the field, in going out alone and bringing in wounded under heavy fire. In October last he was badly wounded at Passchendaele, and died as soon as he reached the dressing station.
