Information: Captain H.M. Baillie, Royal Irish Rifles, killed in action, was a son of Mr. Robert Baillie. Ellerslie, Ravenshill Park. Belfast, of the firm of Messrs. Carson, Baillie and Thom, solicitors, Belfast. Captain Baillie, who was 24 years of age. was educated at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution, and previous to joining the Colours was serving his apprenticeship as a solicitor with Messrs. Canon and M'Dowell. He gave up his lectures in Dublin in November 1914, joined the Irish Rifles and received his commission in January 1915, being promoted Captain in September last.
