Information: Captain James Plowman M.C., Leinster Regiment, who was killed in action on April 28th, 1918, in his 27th year, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Plowman, of Inchicore, Dublin, and formerly of Skerton, Lancaster. He was educated at Sulyard Street Wesleyan School, Lancaster, and was an engineer with Messrs. Guinness, Dublin, at the time he joined the Forces. He was wounded last June, holding up, with 17 men, a German pillbox for 24 hours, for which he was awarded the M.C.
