Information: Colonel Gilbert J.A. Ormsby D.S.O., Royal Army Medical Corps, is the only son of Lieut. Col. Sir Lambert Ormsby, of Merrion Square, has seen a good deal of service, having been in the South African War, 1899 to 1902, during which time he took part in numerous operations, and obtained the Queen's medal with four clasps and the King's medal with two clasps. He has also seen much service in India. He was with the 15th Field Ambulance in the famous retreat of Mons, and afterwards commanded the same Ambulance in various parts of France. He was afterwards O.C. to the 42nd Casualty Clearing Station, and is now A.D.M.S. He has won the D.S.O., and has been up to the present mentioned four times in despatches, during nearly four years continuous service in France. Only recently for his services he was promoted Brevet Full Colonel.
